The Pillar Implant System - the result of extensive research
Research and clinical experience have led to the current Pillar palatal implant system:
During the Pillar Procedure three tiny implants are placed at the junction of the hard and soft palate. |
 |
For maximum effectiveness, the implants are closely placed — one is placed at the midline and the other two are placed no more than 2mm lateral of the midline implant.
 Pillar Placement.
The result is a contiguous structure approximately 10 mm by 18 mm that serves as an extension of the hard palate and reduces the palate’s natural tendency to flutter and/or obstruct the airway during sleep.
 Fibrotic response to Pillar inserts.
